Agbesi Kwadzo Sokpor is an astute academic and a gifted culinary artist, deeply passionate about crafting flavorful and authentic African meals.

Originally from Ghana, West Africa, Agbesi began learning to cook at the age of 14, inspired by his diverse cultural upbringing. With a father from the Volta Region and a mother from the Ashanti Region, he was exposed to a rich blend of culinary traditions, mastering a variety of local dishes and perfecting them with his unique touch.

His early love for cooking fueled a lifelong curiosity—leading him to explore and study both local and exotic ingredients to create meals that are not only satisfying but memorable. This deep-rooted passion eventually inspired him to launch a food business in the United States, sharing the rich flavors of African cuisine with a broader audience.

Agbesi’s ultimate vision is to make Village Boys Eatery one of the most sought-after dining experiences in Chicago and across America.
